About the course

Lumbar cases can feel scattered, too many tests, too many options, and no clear sense of what actually matters. This course was built to simplify that. You’ll learn a clear, structured approach to lumbar assessment and treatment that helps you make confident decisions without overthinking or defaulting to memorized protocols. Instead of chasing symptoms or relying on checklists, you’ll develop clinical reasoning that allows you to adapt to each patient in front of you. This course walks through the full lumbar care process, from understanding key anatomy and biomechanics, to performing an efficient exam, identifying red flags, selecting appropriate interventions, and progressing patients toward meaningful goals. The focus is on clarity, consistency, and real-world application. Everything is designed to fit into actual clinic workflows and be usable immediately with your patients. If you’ve ever felt unsure about what matters most, what to do next, or how to explain your plan clearly to a patient, this course gives you a system you can rely on.

Meet Your Instructor:  Dr. Nick Rainey

I’m a physical therapist, clinic owner, and educator. Early in my career, lumbar cases often felt harder than they needed to be. Not because I didn’t know enough techniques, but because it wasn’t always clear what mattered most, how to prioritize findings, or how to move patients forward with confidence. Over time, through treating patients, mentoring clinicians, and teaching residents, I learned that clarity comes from strong clinical reasoning and simple, repeatable frameworks, not from doing more. That’s what this course is built around. I love teaching because it allows me to help clinicians feel more confident, less overwhelmed, and more consistent in their care. My goal is simple: to help you think clearly, make better decisions, and feel grounded in your approach to lumbar patients. If this course helps you walk into your next lumbar case with more confidence and less second-guessing, then it’s done its job.
